7 year old, Somer Thompson was tragically found dead in a ditch in Florida, after being kidnapped while walking home from school.
One day while walking home from school, Miss Somer Thompson was in a little argument with another child that she walked home with when her sister told her to stop. Somer hurried to get ahead of the group and was seen standing outside of an abandoned house. This was the last time she was seen-alive.
For two days Somer's parents went on the news and begged for the kidnappers to bring their daughter back, and that the police that were on the case would get them. Unfortunately, the parents wish was not going to come true. Tirelessly the police searched for the young girl, and nothing was found. Finally on October 22, young Somer's body was found in a Georgia landfill right near the Florida state border. She had no I.D. but was recognized by the clothes that she was wearing. The police had followed garbage trucks from Somer's neighborhood; they suspected that the kidnapper had dumped the body, only to find her half covered by dirt and other waste. Both parents were devastated, the mother, Diana Thompson, broke down after receiving the phone call that confirmed her daughter's death. The father had a similar reaction, challenging the police and broken at his daughter's death. "I'm so angry. I'm so hurt. My baby daughter lying in trash. Discarded like a piece of trash. God help the SOB's who hurt my daughter. They (the police) had better find them."
At this time the cause of death is unsure-an autopsy this Wednesday will confirm. Florida state police caution parents to still be wary and watch their children closely.
